Legacies

Your bequest – whether large or small – will help us to continue and build upon the work you enjoy so much.

If you would like to make a lasting difference, then please consider leaving a legacy.  You don’t have to be wealthy to include a charity in your Will and it is a very easy and tax-effective way of giving something back to the music which has given you so much pleasure.

We remember long-standing supporters of the College through legacy-endowed prizes, scholarships and bursaries and, in this way, you could name an award or scholarship in perpetuity.

A bequest to the RNCM is the same as making a gift to any other charity and therefore can also help reduce the tax burden on your estate.   You could leave a specific sum of money, a percentage of your estate, the residue of your estate after family and friends are looked after, or a specific asset, such as property, an instrument or other assets.

What to do next

A simple bequest should be worded as a gift to support the Royal Northern College of Music and will be used where the College needs it most.  However, if you would like your legacy to support a particular area of our work, a specific School, to name a Bursary or Scholarship Fund, or if it is for general student support, then please contact us before you consult your solicitor and we can give you all the information you need.

To let us know of your intention to leave a gift to the RNCM in your Will, or for further information,  please contact Christine Henstock, Development Manager , T 0161 907 5392 or
