For the past three years the RNCM has participated in a matched funding scheme established by the Government to encourage people to make philanthropic gifts to higher education institutions.
On July 31 this scheme comes to an end, but until then the Government will match donations we receive with 50% of the value. This means that a gift of £100 is actually worth £150 to the College.
The RNCM has remained focused in requests to support this initiative, and now has an opportunity to ask its supporters to participate in this final phase to help raise important funds to support the College and its students.
Kate Seeckts, the RNCM’s Director of Development, said: ‘We want to encourage as many of you as possible to make a contribution during these final weeks, because your gifts – however large or small - may unlock additional funding. Sometimes, the simple cost of a train fare to London can make a difference to an RNCM student hoping to compete in a competition. In fact, we were recently able to help a student who then won an opportunity to perform at Wigmore Hall. Your help really can, and does, make things possible here.’
The Government is keen to see that the RNCM has increased the number of philanthropic gifts to the College. By demonstrating this, the RNCM hopes to be eligible to receive the potential extra funds.
